Registered Nurse - Orthopedic

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM with rotating weekends and 2 major holidays.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing with specialized experience in orthopedic care. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, including total knee and hip replacements.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to orthopedic patients pre- and post-operation.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
• Assist in the management of wound care and treatment protocols.
• Document patient care and progress in the Meditech system.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active TX RN License (Temp License not accepted).
• BLS Certification.
• At least 2+ years of Medical-Surgical RN experience.
• Minimal wound care experience; orthopedic experience preferred.
