Job Description
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to infants in a 20-bed Level III NICU. The unit operates with a staffing ratio of 1:2 for critical care and 1:3-4 for progressive care, ensuring close monitoring and expert support for each patient. Providers are available on-site 24/7 to assist with critical care needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to infants in the NICU, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Administer medications and evaluate their effects on patient health.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care.
- Document patient information and interventions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
Required Experience
- Experience in a NICU is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.
