Schedule / Shift

This position offers a night shift with a schedule of 3x12 hours from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Job Description

The NICU RN will provide specialized care to neonates in a Level III NICU, which sees approximately 190 births per month. This role may require floating to Mother-Baby as necessary, particularly if the RN has couplet experience.

Responsibilities

• Administration of critical medications and therapies, including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, and blood products.
• Conducting assessments and monitoring vital signs for neonates.
• Providing breastfeeding support and managing feedings (bottle, breast, and gavage).
• Managing invasive lines such as PICC and central lines.
• Conducting high-risk delivery attendance and neonatal resuscitation.
• Performing various medical procedures, including APGAR scoring, ROP exams, and spinal taps.
• Implementing developmental care strategies and parent education.
• Using advanced equipment such as CPAP, BIPAP, and high-frequency ventilation.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required, with at least 1 year in a NICU specialty.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

• Current BCLS certification.
• Current NRP certification, advanced preferred, but basic NRP will be accepted if the candidate is willing to obtain advanced certification before the start date.
• PALS certification is required.
• Valid RN license from a compact state must be in hand at the time of submission.
