Job Description
The NICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care for neonates in an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities include managing complex neonatal conditions and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and assess the condition of neonatal patients.
- Perform procedures such as APGAR scoring, arterial line management, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Provide support to families regarding neonate care and conditions.
- Utilize specialized knowledge in neonatal care, including managing high-risk deliveries and treating conditions such as NEC and NAS.
- Document patient care accurately using the Epic charting system.
- Ensure proper infection control practices are implemented.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN is required, with at least 1 year in a Level III NICU setting.
Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN License (Compact license preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
