Schedule/Shift
This position involves 3x12 hour shifts, night shift from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend, with holiday coverage as needed. Floating to different Cone Health facilities may be required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit will care for patients including observation patients, those with respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative care, end-of-life care, hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical patients. The role requires monitoring patients with telemetry and administering medications and treatments as prescribed. Experience with EPIC as the charting system is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care across various diagnoses and conditions.
- Utilize telemetry for patient monitoring as required.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Conduct routine assessments and documentation using EPIC.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams for optimal patient care.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, adhering to best practices and protocols.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
- Previous experience in charge nurse roles preferred.
- Experience with the following is highly regarded: observation patients, telemetry, respiratory conditions, and surgical nursing.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Active RN license in hand at the time of application.
- Successful completion of EKG exam during onboarding is required.
