Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Medical Telemetry unit will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). The nurse will work with a variety of patients including those with respiratory issues, medical telemetry, surgical cases, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, and respiratory failure. Strong experience in handling ventilators and tracheostomy care is a must. Familiarity with telemetry interpretation is also required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to IMC and medical telemetry patients.
- Manage ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, and other respiratory equipment.
- Support patients in a range of clinical scenarios including acute and chronic conditions.
- Collaborate within a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips effectively.
- Float to other IMC or Med/Surg units as needed based on staffing requirements.
Required Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar nursing role.
- Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS certification required.
