4x12 Hour Night Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM, with every other weekend required. Float requirements apply.
Job Description
The Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse will work in a high-volume unit, providing care for complex medical cases, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients. The role involves monitoring patients through telemetry, responding to rapid response and code situations, and managing various medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for 5-7 patients in a MedSurg telemetry unit.
- Utilize Epic for charting and documentation.
- Administer medications and manage various IV therapies.
- Oversee and assess patient progress, response to treatment, and report changes as necessary.
- Perform and manage care for patients with complex cases, including those with pacemakers, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies.
- Implement isolation precautions and wound care measures as required.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of charge experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7.
- Previous experience in a high-volume medical-surgical unit.
Certifications/Licensure
- New York State RN License must be valid and in hand.
- Current BLS certification required.
- NIHSS certification required; must include valid NIHSS in submittal.
