Schedule/Shift

This position requires 3x12 hour shifts, with the potential for 4x12s depending on availability. Every other weekend and holiday are required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. Responsibilities include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, administering oxygen, managing peripheral lines, and collaborating with rapid response/code teams. Nurses must independently monitor telemetry strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms for the telemetry patients under their care.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Provide peripheral line care and management.
• Administer nasal cannula and oxygen therapy.
• Participate in rapid response and code teams.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently.
• Implement isolation precautions as needed.

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Valid New York State RN license.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
