This position requires working weekends and may involve floating between units. The shifts are 3x12 hours, typically from 07:00 to 19:00.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in a Medical-Surgical setting with a focus on supporting patients recovering from cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. Experience with Epic charting is required, and the staff is expected to follow isolation precautions and utilize non-invasive airway management protocols.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in patient education and management post-neurosurgery.
- Utilize rapid response/code teams when necessary.
- Provide care and management for patients using oxygen administration and peripheral line care.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical-Surgical setting.
- One year of travel nursing experience is required.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:6.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse license in a compact state is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
