This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3x12 hour shifts, Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with a weekend requirement of every other weekend.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on renal conditions. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The unit utilizes Epic for charting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:6-7.
• Provide care in accordance with established protocols for patients with renal issues.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, social services, and pharmacy.
• Participate in the rapid response team as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in a medical-surgical unit.
• Proficiency in IV insertion and management.
• Experience with patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current SC RN license or Compact license required prior to start.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
