Schedule/Shift
Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation, with a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00. Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days, with no guarantee of hours or shift preference.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will work within the Medical Unit, providing care to patients requiring medical-surgical services. The role involves utilizing Meditech EMR and managing equipment such as pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes. The nurse will need to be adaptable and may float to the Laulima Unit or Cardiovascular Unit as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the Medical-Surgical unit.
- Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and patient management.
- Handle various medical equipment including pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
- Adhere to the nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for day and evening shifts, and 1:8 for night shifts.
- Participate in department-specific training and orientation.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years and up to 10 years of nursing experience is required for this position.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current and active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required prior to the start of the assignment.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved application for medical or religious exemption is required before the contract start date.
