Job Description
The Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit at Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse. The role involves providing general medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population, including occasional non-critical pediatric patients. The nurse will utilize the MedHost EMR system and may be required to float between units as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in a medical-surgical inpatient setting.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in patient status.
- Perform routine assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical setting.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license in the state of New Mexico.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; ACLS and PALS are preferred.
