Weekend Rotating, Night Shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. This role requires the initiation of IVs, Foley catheter insertions, dressing changes, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). The position utilizes the Meditech documentation system.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care in a medical-surgical setting.
• Demonstrate competence in all areas of nursing practice.
• Participate in patient care rounds and engage in interdisciplinary communication.
• Initiate IVs and perform dressing changes.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
• Support a safe and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Tele nursing experience required.
• 2+ years of hospital experience required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Texas RN License required (temporary licenses are not accepted).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
