This position requires 3 12-hour shifts per week, including 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit at Skyline Medical Center is responsible for providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families. The unit has 20 beds, with a patient ratio of 6:1. You will have access to various equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and a bladder scanner. The documentation system used is Meditech.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support, ensuring a compassionate environment.
• Conduct bedside shift reports and engage with patients and their families in care planning.
• Participate in patient assessments and care coordination.
• Utilize iMobile communication technology for effective collaboration.

Required Experience

• Med/Surg experience is required.
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask effectively.
• Experience in starting IVs and performing basic wound care.
• Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
