Schedule/Shift

12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Weekend hours are required every other week.

Job Description

Join a dynamic team at Duke Lifepoint Hospital, a Joint Commission Accredited facility in Wilson, NC, known for its comprehensive cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services. The Registered Nurse will be part of the Medical-Surgical team, caring primarily for adult and geriatric patients. The department includes 22 beds on each of two floors with a patient ratio of 6:1 up to 7:1.

The Registered Nurse will utilize MEDITECH for documentation and work with telemetry equipment. This position may require floating to other departments based on patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in the Medical-Surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Document patient information accurately in MEDITECH.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical nursing role is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred.
