Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit provides care to a variety of patient populations in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and utilizing the EPIC charting system for documentation. The RN will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a Medical-Surgical environment for diverse patient populations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs and behaviors.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Assist with patient education regarding health conditions and home care.
- Float between all Med-Surg units as required, maintaining high standards of care.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience.
- At least 6 months of recent Level 1 trauma experience or experience in a facility with 400+ beds and high acuity patients.
- Comfortable with lines and chest tubes.
- Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license in the state of Mississippi.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred for charge RN roles.
