Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit at a 225-bed specialty care hospital. The unit caters to adult patients requiring observation for various conditions, including chest pain, asthma exacerbations, TIAs, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar problems, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical-surgical nursing, with a preference for telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in the Observation Unit.
• Provide care for patients requiring observation status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan patient care.
• Document all patient interactions and updates accurately in EHR (Cerner).

Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience is required.

Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale Competency.
• Tele/ECG Competency.
• Preferred: TNCC, ENPC certifications.
