Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of care. This role involves managing and providing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with the entire care team. The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates leadership and establishes collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and communicate opportunities for enhancement.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practices to influence patient care and enhance clinical outcomes.
• Apply the nursing process to formulate individualized patient care plans that consider holistic patient needs.
• Maintain comprehensive patient documentation to facilitate effective communication among care providers.
• Engage as a vital partner on the care team, adapting to changes and demonstrating flexibility.
• Teach patients and families effectively about their care, ensuring understanding and preparedness for transitions.
• Foster productive relationships within the healthcare team, demonstrating accountability and commitment to patients.

Required Experience

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.

Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in PA
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Compliance with PA Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73
