Registered Nurse - Med/Surg and EICU - Weekender Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse position provides quality, professional nursing care to patients. This role entails assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care for a group of Med/Surg and EICU patients. The RN must adapt to changes in daily assignments, patient status changes, and unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process throughout the patient's hospitalization to ensure individualized care.
• Initiate, develop, and document patient care plans based on assessments and medical diagnoses.
• Provide care independently with minimal supervision, responding to life-threatening situations according to nursing standards.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments in an understandable manner.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate significant changes to the Provider in a timely manner.
• Administer medications and IV therapy with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with other health team members in planning and providing care based on patient needs.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and utilize infection control procedures effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two-year degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Valid Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire; PALS encouraged.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are required.
