Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Unit (Nights)

Schedule

12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) with expectations for holiday coverage.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Med/Surg unit specializing in Infectious Disease. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-acuity patient care, with a focus on current COVID treatment protocols and general med/surg overflow cases. The nursing staff will maintain patient safety and high standards of care while effectively managing a busy unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and effective nursing care to patients in a med/surg setting.
• Manage patient assignments, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Titrate drips as necessary under established protocols.
• Engage in professional development and perform unit-based orientation for new staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
• Experience in a larger facility with high-acuity patients, particularly in managing chest tubes and IV lines.
