Night shifts; 12-hour shifts (7p-7a) with weekend requirements as needed (every other or every third weekend).
Job Description
This position is within the Alice T. Miner Women & Children’s Center at CVPH Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, a Level 1 Perinatal Center. The registered nurse will provide care to women in need of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, and gynecological non-obstetrical patients. Additionally, the nurse will support neonatal patients up to 28 days old and assist in outpatient lactation services. Experience in Labor and Delivery, as well as in nursery and postpartum care, is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
- Assist in labor and delivery procedures.
- Caring for neonates and providing postpartum support for mothers.
- Maintain CPR, ACLS, NRP, EMTALA competencies, and Fetal Monitoring Certification.
- Work collaboratively in a team nursing care model.
- Document all patient interactions and care in Epic/GE Centricity system.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required.
- At least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery specifically.
Certifications/Licensure
- Required: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Preferred: STABLE and ACLS.
- Current New York State RN license or proof of application with applied date required.
