This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Night Shift: 3 nights per week from 18:30 to 07:30. Every other weekend is required, along with potential holiday on-call coverage.

Job Description

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to low and high-risk patients in the Maternal Child Pavilion. This includes assessments, monitoring fetal and maternal well-being, conducting deliveries, and supporting postpartum care. The ideal candidate should be skilled in a variety of labor and delivery procedures, including but not limited to C-sections, vacuum extraction, and neonatal resuscitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs in labor and delivery settings.
• Assist with the management of labor, including administering medications and conducting fetal monitoring.
• Provide support and education to patients and families during the childbirth process.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, displaying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Document patient information accurately using the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Experience in high-risk deliveries and antepartum care.
• Proficiency in performing assessments such as NST and OCT.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in New Jersey or compact state license.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM.
