Schedule/Shift

3x12 or 4x12 Night shifts are available. Weekends are required every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be assigned to a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit with responsibilities that include working in OB Triage, assisting with deliveries, and providing care for both antepartum and postpartum patients. The facility averages around 7 deliveries per day, with potential peaks up to 14 patients, including inductions and high-risk cases. Documentation is managed through the Epic system.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
• Monitor patients during labor and respond to any complications.
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and perform necessary interventions.
• Support breastfeeding and provide discharge education to new parents.
• Utilize Epic for patient documentation and to maintain accurate records.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to be trained in charge duties.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Alaskan Registered Nurse license (in hand for auto offer).
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP.
