Job Description

The Registered Nurse, House Supervisor will oversee nursing care and operations within a 25-bed inpatient unit that includes detox, swing bed, and medical rehabilitation patients. The facility provides care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, pneumonia, ETOH and opiate withdrawal, and cellulitis. RN support ratios are 1:6 days and 1:7 nights, with LPN assistance available for medication pass and swing bed assignments. The hospital has a 7-bed ER, and the unit occasionally requires overseeing specialized equipment, including rented bariatric equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing care delivered across all units.
• Manage patient admissions and discharges.
• Oversee crisis interventions and emergency department management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., DPH, TJC, OSHA).
• Participate in rapid response and internal incident management.
• Document incidents, patient care assessments, and treatment plans effectively.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a House Supervisor or RN Manager role.
• Experience with patient ratios and broad experience in inpatient acute care settings.

Certifications/Licensure

• Valid RN license in New York.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
