ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Hospice (Night Shift) in Morristown, New Jersey.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

4 pm to 8 am (3 shifts/week) with an on-call requirement to cover Morris & Sussex Counties. Weekend coverage is required every 3 weeks with compensatory days provided, along with one summer/winter holiday.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in hospice care, you will perform patient assessments, develop care plans for patients and families, and ensure the appropriate utilization of services by adhering to visit productivity standards and insurance reimbursement rules. You will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to communicate patient progress and revise care plans as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess patient appropriateness for hospice care and monitor learning needs and goals.
• Maintain visit productivity standards and demonstrate knowledge of insurance reimbursement.
• Perform electronic discharge assessments and ensure timely documentation transfers.
• Utilize age-appropriate teaching methods to evaluate and revise teaching plans for patients and families.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Follow infection control measures and manage medication orders safely.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and performance improvement programs, supporting the orientation and mentorship of new employees.
• Assist in the growth of the agency's business by accepting other assignments as needed.

Required Experience

• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a home hospice environment.
• Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse License in New Jersey.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
