Job Description
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a 96-bed hospital specializing in behavioral health, which comprises four units. The patient population includes adolescents aged 13-17 and adults 18 and older, focusing on mental wellness and acute stabilization. The average length of stay for patients is 7-10 days.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Utilize de-escalation skills effectively to manage patients' behavioral health needs.
- Document patient care and observations accurately using the HCS electronic health record system.
- Participate in the treatment planning process and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Respond to patient calls and needs efficiently and effectively.
- Be available for call/text when team members call off or when shifts need filling.
Required Experience
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a behavioral health setting is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Health Worker Certification (HWC).
