Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Pre-Op for OR unit will be responsible for providing pre-operative care to patients, ensuring their readiness for surgery. The ideal candidate should have experience working with geriatric, adult, and minimal pediatric patient populations. The position involves utilizing Cerner as the electronic health record (EHR) system and requires a collaborative approach within a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before surgery to determine their medical history and readiness.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including necessary documentation.
• Coordinate with surgical teams and provide patient education.
• Monitor patients post-operatively until discharge from the pre-op unit.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or pre-operative setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
