Job Description
The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform laboratory tests, manage quality control procedures, and effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, and patients. This role requires a strong capability to work independently and to provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology.
- Execute and manage quality control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and patients.
- Provide guidance and direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or formal student internship.
Certifications/Licensure
- Board eligible by NCA or ASCP; must complete board certification within one year of employment.
- Certification at MT by ASCP or CLS by NCA must be obtained within one year of employment.
