Job Description
The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for overseeing assigned laboratory sections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining quality patient care. The laboratory provides a range of high-complexity services including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy, operating 24 hours a day.
Responsibilities
- Oversee specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of test results.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and training to laboratory staff.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience as a generalist in each specialty of clinical, high-complexity testing in a clinical laboratory.
Certifications/Licensure
Current, unexpired Medical Laboratory Science, Technologist, or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency.
