Responsibilities

At Arcfield, we solve the nation’s most complex challenges. We are currently seeking a Senior Software and Systems Integration Engineer to provide expert-level Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for critical national security systems. In this role, you will be the linchpin ensuring that mission-critical information - specifically mission data, ephemeris, and ancillary data - moves securely and efficiently across the ground enterprise. The Role Serving as a senior technical advisor at the intersection of software, data, networking, and systems engineering, you will help the Government understand how mission data is produced, exchanged, received, and consumed across highly interconnected systems. You will work across programs and organizations to identify dependencies, evaluate proposed architectural changes, and ensure that as interfaces evolve, mission data remains accurate, timely, interoperable, and highly available. The ideal candidate combines a deep technical understanding of ephemeris and ancillary mission data with hands-on expertise in network connectivity, system interfaces, and requirements management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Advisory: Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ephemeris, ancillary data, and associated mission data services. Advise Government stakeholders on technical risks, dependencies, and courses of action.
  • Architecture & Data Flow Analysis: Map and analyze end-to-end mission data flows (generation, transport, interfaces, receipt, processing, and consumption) to identify bottlenecks and technical constraints.
  • Interface & Network Assessment: Evaluate network connectivity and system interfaces supporting mission-critical data exchanges, ensuring seamless integration between upstream and downstream systems.
  • Requirements & Configuration Management: Drive the development, analysis, and maintenance of technical requirements. Support Requests for Change (RFCs), engineering changes, interface modifications, and configuration management activities.
  • Troubleshooting & Integration: Lead root-cause analysis of complex data exchange issues. Evaluate the impact of software, network, or architecture changes on the broader mission ecosystem.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software developers, network/systems engineers, mission operators, and external program stakeholders through technical reviews, integration events, test activities, and engineering decision forums.
  • Modernization Initiatives: Develop technical assessments and strategic recommendations to support the transition from legacy data exchanges to modernized services and architectures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Clearance: Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 10-12 years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 8-10 years of experience; PhD with 5-7 years of experience OR equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of ephemeris, ancillary data, or comparable mission-critical space/ground data products.
  • Systems Integration: Significant experience with software-intensive mission systems, mission data architectures, and analyzing network connectivity, data flows, and system dependencies.
  • Requirements Management: Proven track record of developing, evaluating, and documenting technical requirements and interface control documents.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills, with the ability to provide independent, objective technical recommendations in a Government SETA environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) space and ground systems.
  • Deep understanding of orbital or mission planning data and associated ground processing systems.
  • Familiarity with modern software architectures, APIs, cloud environments, DevSecOps, or automated data services.
  • Prior experience managing transition and modernization efforts for legacy data infrastructures.
