JOB DESCRIPTION: JUNIOR PROCESS ANALYST
Location: Vernon, CA Reports To: Operations Manager, Director of Commercial Systems Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly Salary: $20 to $25 per hour About the Company Arcadia Products, a DMC Global company (NASDAQ: BOOM), makes aluminum storefront, curtain wall, windows, doors, and interior partitions at multi-site fabrication plants in and around Vernon, CA. Our work is high-mix and engineer-to-order, running on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) as the system of record, Soft Tech V6 for quoting and manufacturing, and Microsoft Fabric and Power BI for data and reporting. About This Role The Junior Process Analyst is an hourly, operations-first role focused on Power BI reporting and data gathering. You will sit with the business teams (estimating, planning, purchasing, production, shipping, and finance) to learn what questions they need answered, find where the data lives, collect and clean it, and turn it into reliable Power BI reports. You will also be the go-between who turns business reporting and data needs into clear requests for IT, and explains IT changes back to the business in plain language.
- Power BI Reporting: Build and maintain Power BI reports. Develop reports and dashboards from requirements to release. Write DAX measures, shape data in Power Query, and build clean star-schema semantic models on governed data in Microsoft Fabric and D365 F&O.
- Data Gathering & Preparation: Find and pull data from D365 F&O, Soft Tech V6, Excel trackers, and other business sources. Profile, clean, and reconcile it, and document where each field comes from.
- Reporting Requirements: Interview report users, learn the business process behind each request, and write short requirement notes covering purpose, audience, data sources, and metric definitions.
- Business Liaison to IT: Turn reporting and data requests into clear tickets with business context. Work with Enterprise Systems on data access, Fabric datasets, and new data feeds, and help test changes that affect reports.
- Data Definitions & Quality: Maintain a simple data dictionary and metric definitions, and flag data quality problems to the data owners so they are fixed at the source, not patched in a report.
- Reporting Automation: Move recurring spreadsheet reports into Power BI with scheduled refresh, and use Power Automate or Copilot where it saves manual work, under IT's governance rules.
- Report User Support: Train users on their reports, answer questions, and keep short how-to guides current.
- Compliance & Controls: Respect access rules, row-level security, and change control that support our public-company (SOX) obligations.
Qualifications
Required
- 1 to 3 years in a reporting, data, or business analyst role, or a related degree or certificate with internship experience.
- Strong Power BI skills you can show in a portfolio: DAX measures (CALCULATE, time intelligence, filter context), Power Query (M) transformations, star-schema data modeling, and publishing and refresh in the Power BI Service.
- Experience gathering data from several sources and reconciling it to a trusted total.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query).
- Clear, plain-language writing and speaking, and comfort working with non-technical teams, including on the plant floor.
Preferred
- Experience with D365 F&O or another ERP (SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, Oracle).
- Exposure to Soft Tech V6 or other fenestration, quoting, or CAD/CAM software.
- Basic SQL, or experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
- Lean or Six Sigma basics (Yellow or Green Belt).
- Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) certification, or willingness to earn it in the first year.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
Performance Expectations
- Success at 6 Months: Has built and published at least 3 Power BI reports that business teams use regularly, each with documented data sources and metric definitions.
- Success at 12 Months: Has moved at least two recurring spreadsheet reports into Power BI with scheduled refresh, and is the first stop for business reporting and data requests to IT.
