Perform engineering calculations to evaluate design options and support technical decisions.
Collaborate with analysts, systems engineers, designers, and manufacturing engineers to develop and document integrated design solutions.
Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
Use product data management (PDM) systems to maintain version control and manage design documentation.
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with applicable design standards and customer application requirements.
Participate in design and peer reviews, incorporating feedback into engineering work products.
Follow ATS policies and procedures for engineering documentation, peer review, and configuration management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience creating 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
Demonstrated experience designing individual components and large assemblies in SolidWorks.
Experience using product data management (PDM) systems for version control and design documentation.

Experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary engineering design team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Currently possess or have the ability to obtain Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

8 or more years of experience performing mechanical design tasks using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
Experience documenting product and manufacturing information (PMI) using model-based definition (MBD).
Familiarity with military standards and Department of Defense (DoD) practices, including MIL-STD-130.
Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA).
Experience designing components for high-rate production exceeding 500 units per year.
Experience designing composite structures.
Experience designing components for additive manufacturing, particularly metal additive manufacturing.
