Summary In Places, we don’t sit back and let things happen; we make things happen, and we do this in service to all Apple employees and customers. Our team is a diverse and nimble group that manages Apple’s retail stores, workplaces, and workplace services. We develop and manage Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world.

As part of our Places Construction team, you’ll play a significant role in transforming spaces into functional corporate offices and product development centers. We’re seeking a highly motivated Construction Project Manager to manage the end-to-end delivery of capital projects, including high-design workplaces and technically complex laboratory fit-outs. This role calls for a blend of skills - the ability to execute an elevated design vision with meticulous attention to detail, solid technical knowledge, and strong project management discipline.

Description As a Construction Project Manager, you will be a key point of contact for project delivery to stakeholders, responsible for taking projects of moderate scale and complexity from concept through design, construction, commissioning, and handover, with opportunities to grow into larger programs. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives on coordinating with a diverse group of stakeholders - including internal cross-functional partners, architects, engineers, and general contractors - to deliver inspiring and functional spaces on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Strategy (Pre-Construction) Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior team members and key stakeholders. Develop project plans, including budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies. Support the selection and procurement process for architects, engineers, general contractors, and other vendors. Work with end-users (e.g., R&D teams) to translate scientific and operational requirements into design and construction criteria. Design & Engineering Management Manage the design development process, ensuring the architectural vision is maintained while meeting functional, technical, and budgetary requirements. Serve as a liaison between the design team and internal stakeholders to facilitate decision-making and approvals. Coordinate and review MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and process utility designs for laboratory environments (e.g., specialized HVAC, process gases, RO/DI water, tooling and hookup of equipment), partnering with technical subject matter experts. Contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize cost without compromising design intent or lab functionality. Coordinate permitting and regulatory approval processes with local authorities. Construction & Execution Provide on-site oversight of construction activities, serving as the owner’s representative. Manage the project budget, tracking costs, processing invoices, and forecasting expenditures. Proactively manage the project schedule, identifying and resolving issues that could cause delays. Enforce uncompromising standards for quality, safety, and craftsmanship, befitting a high-design and technical environment. Review change orders for legitimacy and cost, negotiate with contractors, and route them for approval. Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear, consistent progress reports to all stakeholders. Closeout & Handover Develop and execute a handover plan for completed projects, building systems, and equipment. Oversee the creation and completion of punch lists to ensure a flawless final product. Coordinate final inspections, occupancy permits, and the successful handover of the facility to the end-users. Ensure the compilation and delivery of all project documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, and O&M manuals. Manage the financial closeout of the project, in

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with a portfolio of completed commercial construction projects. Experience delivering high-design architectural projects where aesthetic quality and finish were paramount. Experience with the fit-out of technical spaces such as labs or research facilities. Working knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from programming and design through commissioning and closeout. Experience managing project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project, Bluebeam) and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications Ability to drive progress across diverse cross-functional teams through collaboration. A self-starter with a powerful sense of ownership and a "no-task-is-too-small" attitude. An eye for quality and the discipline to ensure nothing is overlooked in both design and technical execution. Excellent communication, consensus building, and interpersonal skills; able to articulate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Thrives in a fast-paced environment and navigates ambiguity with confidence. Identifies potential issues before they become problems and develops creative, effective solutions.
