We are seeking a local candidate for this role!

Office Requirement: In office Tuesday-Thursday downtown OKC.

The Financial Crimes/AML Supervisor is responsible for ensuring Bullion International Group’s and all entities in North America adherence to BSA/AML, OFAC and sanctions, and other financial crimes laws and regulations by leading AML and sanctions compliance monitoring and testing across all lines of business, products, and functions. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, sanctions, and financial crimes regulations, understands associated risks and operational processes, and has experience in AML and sanctions testing or auditing. The role reports to the AML & Fraud Compliance Manager, escalates significant events and provides regular updates to the Chief Risk Officer, and supports regulatory examinations and independent audits on BSA/AML and sanctions matters.

A Day in the Life of an AML Compliance Supervisor:

  • Lead the day-to-day BSA/AML, OFAC, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance program for Bullion International Group and its North American entities, and report to the AML & Fraud Compliance Manager on key metrics, risks, filings, audit and exam findings, and remediation status; escalate significant financial crimes events to the Chief Risk Officer and provide regular updates.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the Financial Crimes/AML Compliance Team, including setting priorities, assigning work, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage, hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, coaching, corrective action, and succession planning, and serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk cases and customer escalations.
  • Establish team performance metrics (alert and case aging, backlog, turnaround times) and a quality assurance program for alert reviews, investigations, KYC/EDD files, and BSA/AML and sanctions filings, supported by standard operational procedures and escalation paths.
  • Conduct risk-based AML, sanctions, and financial crimes monitoring and evaluation activities, including the enterprise-wide BSA/AML and OFAC risk assessment (at least annually and when new products, payment methods, customer types, or geographies are introduced), testing, analysis of findings, and reporting, using data analysis tools to quantify risks, evaluate controls, and identify weaknesses or gaps, to ensure effective and sustainable AML and sanctions risk management.
  • Apply expertise in BSA/AML regulations (KYC, CIP, CDD, EDD), OFAC, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance, staying current with industry trends, FinCEN advisories and AML/CFT National Priorities, OFAC, IRS, and state regulatory changes, and emerging issues to inform AML and sanctions risk strategies and testing plans.
  • Lead the Customer Identification Program (CIP), KYC, customer due diligence (CDD), beneficial ownership collection, and enhanced due diligence (EDD), including performing EDD reviews of high-risk customers and PEPs; maintain the customer risk-rating methodology, approve or decline high-risk relationships, and conduct periodic reviews and exits.
  • Manage transaction monitoring systems and rules, performing periodic tuning, threshold validation, and documentation of rule logic and changes.
  • Lead and conduct investigations of unusual activity, make final Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) decisions, ensuring SARs are complete, accurate, confidential, and filed within 30 calendar days of initial detection, and that no-file decisions are documented.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with BSA/AML reporting and legal-process requirements (e.g., subpoena responses, Form 8300 filed within 15 days with required customer notifications, Currency Transaction Reports where applicable) and review trust and estate documents to verify customer identity, authority, and beneficial ownership; serve as the primary contact for law enforcement inquiries.
  • Manage OFAC and other sanctions screening of customers, counterparties, and transactions, including reviewing and dispositioning potential matches, reporting of blocked or rejected transactions within 10 business days, the annual blocked property report due September 30, and periodic testing of screening tools.
  • Assess financial crimes and fraud-related risk across customers, dealers, and suppliers, including fraud related chargebacks, in coordination with the Fraud team.
  • Review and update the written, risk-based AML/OFAC and sanctions compliance program and related financial crimes policies, procedures, and risk programs to align with current AML and sanctions regulations, submit updates for management approval, and review new products, payment methods (e.g., wires, ACH, cards, digital assets), vendors, and business initiatives for AML and sanctions risk before launch.
  • Deliver annual AML/BSA, OFAC, and sanctions training programs to staff and management, plus role-specific training for the Financial Crimes/AML Compliance Team, enhancing AML and sanctions compliance awareness.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with AML and Fraud teams, Customer Service, Operations, Trading, IT, Legal, senior management, internal stakeholders, and auditors to resolve cross-functional financial crimes compliance issues and implement system and process changes.
  • Coordinate external AML/BSA and sanctions audits, independent testing, and examinations and implement corrective actions as required, tracking all findings through remediation and validation; prepare examination materials and management responses.
  • Ensure AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance records are accurate and maintained for regulatory requirements.
