Job Description:
Technical Product Manager Location: Seattle, WA (On-site) Role Overview This Technical Product Manager role operates as the technical owner for critical platform domains. You will develop deep expertise in production system behavior, store dependencies, failure modes, and strategic investments to improve reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. By treating the platform as a product, you will ensure store partners, field operations, support teams, and engineering consumers can depend on the platform daily. This position combines product thinking, engineering depth, operational ownership, and AI-augmented technical investigation to help shape the future of retail technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical owner for an assigned portfolio of platform services, defining domain roadmaps that balance reliability, modernization, and feature delivery.
- Partner directly with pilot locations and field operations teams during rollouts to observe real-world usage and identify operational friction.
- Define adoption, reliability, and rollout success metrics, monitoring early rollout health to recommend deployment decisions.
- Run services locally, execute test suites, reproduce defects, and investigate customer-impacting issues to validate system behavior.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to map transaction paths, analyze test coverage, and accelerate root cause analysis.
- Define Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) while managing error budget policies to drive customer-journey-based observability.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to identify resiliency, scalability, and supportability risks.
- Lead agile planning and delivery cadences, facilitating sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives while tracking delivery health metrics.
Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Product Management, or a related field of study. Experience: Demonstrated experience as a technical product manager or technical owner managing platform services, APIs, and service integrations. Technical Skills: Strong technical fluency with the ability to clone repositories, run services locally, analyze logs, and execute API and GraphQL requests. Experience with observability tools, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and agile delivery metrics is required. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with store-edge computing, offline operations, fleet rollouts, and synchronization models in hardware-constrained environments.
- Proficiency utilizing AI coding agents and engineering assistants to trace transaction flows and assess code test coverage.
