Description: What you'll be doing

Another Source's client, The Talbot Group, is recruiting an Electrical Facilities Engineer to join their team in Bellingham, Washington.

Are you an experienced electrician who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and taking ownership of critical building systems? This is an opportunity to bring your electrical expertise to a sophisticated commercial property environment where reliability, safety, and operational excellence matter every day. You'll serve as the go-to electrical subject matter expert, help shape long-term infrastructure improvements, and play a key role in maintaining the high standards expected of a Class A property.

Who is The Talbot Group?

The Talbot Group is a real estate organization with properties in Bellingham, Washington. This opportunity supports Talbot's commercial property operations, where maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient building systems is essential to delivering a high-quality experience for tenants and visitors.

About This Role

As the Certified Facilities Engineer (Electrician/Expert F-4), you'll be the technical expert responsible for the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of electrical systems and supporting facility infrastructure.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager/Facilities Lead, you'll combine hands-on troubleshooting with technical leadership, supporting everything from preventive maintenance and emergency response to major equipment upgrades and capital improvement projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned electrical professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in solving difficult problems, and wants to make a meaningful impact beyond day-to-day maintenance. You'll collaborate with fellow engineers, contractors, vendors, and property leadership while helping ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and at the highest standards.

Your Contribution Will Likely Include

Serve as the electrical subject matter expert, overseeing the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot critical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, and electrical distribution panels.
Diagnose complex electrical failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement lasting solutions that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Support building infrastructure beyond electrical systems, including HVAC, building automation, fire alarms, life safety systems, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
Help develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, incorporating technologies such as infrared thermography and power quality analysis.
Lead electrical safety initiatives, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, arc-flash safety practices, risk assessments, and compliance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA, and applicable building codes.
Coordinate electrical shutdowns, equipment commissioning, emergency repairs, and infrastructure upgrades while minimizing disruption to property operations.
Support capital improvement projects by evaluating equipment conditions, recommending lifecycle replacements, developing scopes of work, and preparing preliminary cost estimates and budgets.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other Facilities Engineers, sharing expertise and helping strengthen team capabilities.
Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure work meets safety, quality, and performance expectations.
Maintain accurate equipment records, electrical diagrams, maintenance histories, asset inventories, and compliance documentation using MaintainX and other facility management tools.
Respond to facility alarms and emergencies, troubleshoot operational issues, and communicate priorities and resolutions to property leadership.
Manage and prioritize work orders, monitor completion and quality, and proactively identify opportunities to improve building performance and maintenance practices.

Experience You Will Bring

Working knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation, controls, and related facility infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across technical and nontechnical teams.
Experience maintaining accurate work orders, maintenance documentation, and equipment records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

This is a hands-on, property-based position that involves working both indoors and outdoors, including varying weather and building conditions.

The role requires the ability to safely navigate mechanical and electrical spaces, climb stairs, bend, stoop, squat, stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and appropriate personal protective equipment.
