Position Purpose
The Manager leads the global Manufacturing Processes organization and its Advanced Manufacturing Engineers (AMEs), including AMEs embedded in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. The team deploys, improves, and sustains the manufacturing methods and standards used to introduce and manufacture BAC products.
The Manager owns AME capability, team performance, priorities, project execution, NPI manufacturing readiness, process deployment, plant handoffs, and adoption.
Principal Accountabilities
AME Leadership and NPI Execution
Lead AMEs assigned to NPI programs and establish clear manufacturing-engineering deliverables.
Translate Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) direction into repeatable NPI execution.
Ensure manufacturing readiness, prototypes, pilots, process validation, and plant handoffs meet program requirements.
Process Portfolio and Deployment
Prioritize process initiatives and allocate team resources.
Govern deployment of approved manufacturing-process standards, Global Bill of Process (GBOP) content, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), assembly methods, fixtures, and manufacturing-time methods.
Track adoption, address barriers, and deliver measurable outcomes.
People and Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the Principal Engineer and AMEs.
Set goals, responsibilities, measures, and team norms.
Provide performance feedback, recognition, development, and corrective coaching.
Cross-Functional Alignment
Align Product Management, Engineering, AMT, Manufacturing Systems, BAC Excellence, Global EHS, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations.
Ensure process decisions are translated into systems, equipment, specifications, training, and plant readiness.
Business and Resource Management
Manage assigned budgets, resources, and a one-to-two-year department plan.
Interpret business, cost, capacity, and customer information affecting priorities.
Manufacturing Processes Expansion Playbook
Create and maintain the Manufacturing Processes expansion playbook covering organizational, people, technical, process, specification, documentation, work center, labor method, training, pilot, and readiness requirements.
Lead the process workstream and verify readiness before run-at-rate and operational handoff.
Nature and Scope
The Manager leads the global Manufacturing Processes organization across product platforms, NPI programs, regions, and plants. The scope includes AME capability, manufacturing-process portfolio delivery, deployment, plant handoffs, expansion readiness, adoption, and measurable process outcomes.
