Original job description

WHO ARE WE?

Thermometrics, Telaire, Protimeter, NovaSensor and Kaye are industry-leading sensor and measurement brands that are proudly part of Amphenol Sensors. Together, these businesses develop highly specialized technologies used across automotive, industrial, medical, environmental, and validation applications. Customers turn to our teams for deep expertise, rapid customization, and proven global manufacturing capabilities - helping them solve their toughest engineering challenges.

Amphenol Sensors - a subsidiary of the Amphenol Corporation, a member of the Fortune 500 (NYSE:APH). Established in 1932, Amphenol has pioneered innovation in electronics for nearly a century. Amphenol is the central hub of cutting-edge electronic solutions across virtually every end market, including Automotive, Broadband Communications, Commercial Aerospace, Industrial, Information Technology and Data Communications, Defense, Mobile Devices, and Mobile Networks.

Our unique, decentralized organizational structure fosters entrepreneurial leadership and drives excellent performance. We manage locally, enabling us to move at the speed of a small business, with the financial stability and global resources of an industry-leading, international company.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lead programs, not just schedules.

We are looking for a Program Manager to lead advanced sensor development programs from customer opportunity and product concept through global production launch. This is a hands-on product development leadership role for someone who can bring customers, engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and commercial teams together around a shared plan and drive it forward.

You will work on temperature and pressure sensing solutions used across transportation, industrial automation, healthcare equipment, thermal management, and advanced data center applications. As the central leader for your programs, you will help establish priorities, manage technical and commercial risks, drive accountability, and balance timing, quality, cost, and customer expectations.

This is an opportunity to influence more than project execution. You will help shape customer relationships, product priorities, technology roadmaps, and future business growth within a global technology organization.

LOCATION

Detroit Metro Area

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead cross-functional product development programs from customer opportunity and quotation through production launch.
Develop and maintain integrated program plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
Serve as a primary connection between customers and internal development teams.
Drive alignment and accountability across engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, procurement, supply chain, and commercial teams.
Lead program reviews, risk assessments, status reporting, and executive-level updates.
Identify technical, commercial, scheduling, and supply chain risks and drive practical mitigation plans.
Coordinate prototype builds, product validation, production readiness reviews, and launch activities.
Manage program resources, development costs, launch costs, customer commitments, and profitability objectives.
Work with engineering leadership to prioritize development activities and allocate resources across multiple programs.
Support customer quotations, project planning, business development, and strategic product opportunities.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Improve program management processes, development methods, decision-making, and speed of execution.
Use modern project management, analytical, and artificial intelligence-enabled tools to improve productivity and program visibility.
Help influence product roadmaps, portfolio priorities, and business growth initiatives.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, project management, or a related technical field.
Experience leading cross-functional product development projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, resources, and deliverables.
The ability to influence teams and drive accountability without relying on direct reporting authority.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience working directly with customers and external stakeholders.
The ability to balance technical requirements, commercial priorities, customer expectations, and business needs.
Experience leading multiple complex programs or priorities at the same time.
A proactive leadership style with the confidence to identify issues, make decisions, and drive follow-through.
Experience in transportation, industrial, medical device, electronics, sensor, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
Experience taking new products from concept through validation and production launch is preferred.
Familiarity with structured product-development and quality-planning processes is preferred.
Experience working with global customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and manufacturing facilities is preferred.
Project Management Professional certification or equivalent project management training is a plus.
Experience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Copilot, or similar project management and analytical platforms is a plus.
