Direct Support Professional

Overnight Respite Direct Support Professional (DSP) Location: Manchester, NJ Schedule: Overnight Shift – 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time Available Join the AmeriWell Care Team! AmeriWell Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide overnight in-home respite services for an adult individual with developmental disabilities in Manchester, New Jersey. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while providing peace of mind to families and caregivers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overnight supervision and support in the individual's home
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individual throughout the shift
• Assist with personal care as needed
• Monitor for behavioral or medical concerns and follow established support plans
• Complete required documentation and progress notes accurately and timely
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
• Communicate effectively with family members, agency staff, and support team members
• Follow all agency policies, NJ DDD regulations, Danielle's Law, and incident reporting requirements

Qualifications:

• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
• Experience working with individuals who have behavioral support needs is highly desirable
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the overnight s
