This is an opportunity for a hands-on, business-minded leader to manage an established organization supporting approximately 2,400 beds across skilled nursing, assisted living, home health, hospice, and durable medical equipment (DME) services. The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day business operations, team leadership, financial performance, and continued development of the organization across all four locations. Working alongside established Pharmacy Managers-in-Charge (PICs), this individual will focus on operational efficiency, customer service, staff development, and maintaining the high level of service and employee morale that the organization has built over time. The company has a stable, experienced workforce with many long-tenured employees and a strong team culture. This position is ideal for a leader who understands the unique demands of LTC pharmacy operations and can build on an established foundation while identifying opportunities for continued growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Multi-Location Operations: Oversee the day-to-day business operations of four pharmacy locations throughout the state, ensuring consistency, efficiency, accountability, and high service standards across the organization.

• LTC Pharmacy Operations: Apply a strong understanding of long-term care pharmacy services, including the needs of skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, hospice, home health, and other care settings.

• Operational Performance: Evaluate workflows, staffing, productivity, and operational processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and service delivery.

• Financial Management: Oversee operating budgets, labor costs, resource allocation, and overall business performance to support the organization's financial objectives.

• Customer and Referral Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with facility administrators, healthcare partners, referral sources, and other key customers to support retention, satisfaction, and business growth.

• Collaboration with Pharmacy Leadership: Partner with the PICs at each location to support effective operations, resolve business issues, and ensure coordination between pharmacy operations and overall business objectives.

• Systems and Automation: Oversee the effective use of pharmacy management systems and automation, including Frameworks and Parata equipment.

• DME Operations: Support the coordination and performance of DME services, with an emphasis on candidates who have previous experience managing or overseeing DME operations.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, improve service levels, develop employees, and support the long-term success of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in long-term care pharmacy operations is required.
  • Experience overseeing pharmacy business operations, preferably across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, develop managers, and maintain a positive, productive workplace.
  • Strong understanding of the operational requirements and service expectations associated with LTC pharmacy customers.
  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, staffing, and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems; experience with Frameworks and Parata automation is preferred.
  • Experience with DME operations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership.

Additional Information

  • Pharmacy licensure is not required, as each location has an established PIC.
  • The position oversees four locations and approximately 150 employees.
  • The organization supports approximately 2,400 beds across multiple healthcare service lines.

The Opportunity This is an opportunity to join an established long-term care pharmacy organization with an experienced team, strong employee tenure, and a positive workplace culture.
