Original job description
Agentic Partner Membership Experiences The core of our company is not just the products we offer, but the personal connections our customers have with our brand. You can create digital experiences, from payments to rewards to servicing, that keep us connected to our customers and serve them at every touchpoint. From digital servicing and lifestyle features to secure, frictionless payment options, you can make a meaningful difference in our customers’ lives and help set us apart in the industry. Find your place in digital products on #TeamAmex. The Amex Digital Labs team drives innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and managing products and platforms that are essential to our customers’ digital lives. We are a fast-paced team that leverages emerging technologies to develop digital payment and financial services products and engaging Membership experiences for Card Members. We often collaborate with technology companies and strategic partners to bring products to the market. We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to make it easier for Amex teams and approved partners to build agent-enabled experiences. You will own the roadmap for shared integration capabilities, developer tools and onboarding. You will partner with engineering, Identity and Evaluation teams to make integrations secure, reliable and easy to use. Domain product teams will continue to lead partner relationships and launches.
Own the Platform & DX Product
- Own the product roadmap for shared integration capabilities and developer experience, from discovery through delivery, and adoption.
- Help Amex teams expose capabilities to agents and help approved partners integrate with them
- Map partner integration through the first successful call and production readiness, including testing account-connections and authorization.
- Define requirements for developer documentation, onboarding, testing, and troubleshooting. Select the right level of guided or self-service onboarding for the partners and risks involved.
Define Reusable Integration Patterns
- Partner with engineering and enterprise platform teams on secure, reusable integration patterns.
- Make approved authentication, consent and authorization patterns understandable to developers, in partnership with the Agentic Identity product owner and security teams.
- Own a prioritized learning backlog with engineering: define each experiment’s product question, success criteria and decision; capture findings and turn them into reusable integration requirements and guidance. Preserve domain business rules and justify partner differences.
Measure and Improve Developer Outcomes
- Measure and improve onboarding time, integration success, reliability and developer adoption.
- Partner with engineering and Analytics and the Evaluation product owner to assess integration quality, reliability and developer experience.
- Use performance and customer-experience signals to prioritize improvements to the owned capabilities.
- Support development and release planning, manage cross-functional dependencies, and communicate decisions, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
Operate as a Cross-Functional Product Leader
- Prioritize delivery across teams, reuse existing capabilities where appropriate, and communicate dependencies and tradeoffs within the platform strategy and investment priorities.
- Work with engineering, architecture, domain product teams, partner integration teams, Enterprise Identity, and security, privacy, legal, compliance and risk stakeholders.
- Prioritize shared capabilities around partner and domain needs, delivery commitments, and engineering capacity. Recommend when to reuse, extend or build capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6-8+ years of experience in product management, product development, software engineering, API or platform products, developer tools, or partner-enabled digital experiences.
- Experience owning a developer-facing product or integration experience through launch, adoption and iteration, with clear examples of improved developer outcomes.
- Technical fluency with APIs, authentication and authorization flows, schemas, integration testing, versioning, and errors. Ability to inspect an integration spec or contract and discuss tradeoffs with engineers.
- Strong product judgment, discovery and prioritization skills, including translating ambiguous needs into a roadmap, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience aligning teams with different ownership boundaries and balancing customer, business, technical and control requirements.
- Clear written communication and the ability to explain technical concepts to developers and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI agents, MCP, function calling, SDKs, developer portals or partner ecosystems.
- Experience turning technical discovery and prototypes into reusable platform products, including onboarding, testing or diagnostic improvements.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated industry, and familiarity with privacy, delegated access and customer data protection.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
