Original job description
This role sits within the AMPS Data & Analytics Engineering team, part of AWS Marketplace and Partner Services (AMPS). AWS Marketplace is changing how enterprise software is bought and sold - giving sellers access to all AWS customers and giving buyers a single place to discover, purchase, and consume software.
In this role, you will design, build, and operate foundational data and AI/ML frameworks that power intelligence, reporting, and agent capabilities across AWS Marketplace. Our work spans large-scale data ingestion and processing systems, governed data and semantic layers that enable agents with a single trustworthy source of truth, and the reporting and insights services that turn that data into decisions for customers and the business. You will partner closely with our Data Engineering, Research Science and Applied Science teams on capabilities such as data ingestion services, model serving and agent evaluation, translating scientific methods and core data needs into into production-grade systems.
Key job responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Analytics Engineering team and build the foundational systems and frameworks that power customer-facing intelligence and agentic experiences across AWS Marketplace. You will own significant components end to end - from the services and APIs enabling teams to self-serve intelligence delivery to the data and AI/ML frameworks that run on top of our shared data platform. You will partner closely with Data Engineering and Science teams to extend that platform and deliver the foundational capabilities their spaces depend on.
You will lead set technical direction for the systems you own and influence design across partner teams on data contracts, quality, freshness, and access control. You will work with product, data, engineering, and science partners to turn ambiguous requirements into durable capabilities, including the data and evaluation foundations that agents depend on. As a senior engineer on the team, you will mentor other engineers, sharpening their technical judgment, code quality, and ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong design and implementation skills, deep experience with distributed systems and large-scale data processing, and comfort operating across the stack - from service architecture and data pipelines to semantic and serving layers. Experience building data platforms, reporting or analytics systems, metrics layers, knowledge graphs, or data services consumed by ML models and agents is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of leading the design and delivery of new platforms or products that other teams build on.
About the team This role sits within the AMPS Data & Analytics Engineering team, part of AWS Marketplace and Partner Services (AMPS - a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Scientists, and BI Engineers working together to build the next generation of analytics and AI-powered systems.
