Original job description

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is dedicated to building automated platforms and solutions to streamline the AWS build and deployment process in dedicated regions. Our vision is to fully automate and enable zero-touch AWS deployments thereby reducing the time it takes to deploy new features and freeing engineers to focus on building new services and capabilities.

Deployment engineering is a complex process requiring close collaboration with AWS service teams. We are looking for passionate innovators who want to take the challenge. Your work has visibility to leadership across AWS organization and provides huge opportunity to learn new things while solving complex engineer problems, deliver results that make impact on revenue and resources, and grow professionally and personally.

Developers at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end-to-end, and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. Join a team of super smart, customer obsessed developers that think big and have fun.

The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS workOn a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide automation and scripting support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.

Key job responsibilities Design, build, and operate EC2 control-plane services, fleet health automation, and capacity tooling across air-gapped cloud environments. Own features end to end, with guidance from senior engineers: write the design, implement and test the code, deploy it through pipelines to disconnected regions, and operate it in production, including on-call. Improve monitoring, alarming, and deployment safety for the services you own, and drive the fix when an operational issue reveals a gap. Work with partner teams and stakeholders across the air-gapped partitions to deliver shared infrastructure. Take part in design and code reviews. Use generative artificial intelligence tools and techniques to improve automation, code quality, and team productivity.

As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide automation and scripting support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.
