AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global Data Centers infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers power, and cooling equipment related monitoring and automatic controls system that ensure our customers have continual access to the AWS cloud services.
You’ll join a diverse team of industrial controls, and systems engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
As part of the AMER controls team, you will work with highly motivated experts and innovators in the data center industry. You will be responsible for defining the onboarding, training, and career development of Engineers, Technicians, and Program Managers on the AMER Controls Deployment, Service and Fleet (CDS) fleet. You combine instructional design expertise with a working understanding of industrial controls systems (BMS/EPMS), data center operations, or mission-critical engineering environments. You will be responsible for architecting a single standardized training program from the ground up, redesign the existing onboarding experience and accelerate new hire effectiveness.
This role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong program management discipline, and the ability to partner across engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders throughout AMER.

Design, build, and continuously improve a standardized Controls training program covering the full onboarding lifecycle for Controls Engineers and Controls Technicians, including a structured 90-day experience with weekly shadowing plans, monthly partner team rotations, and qualification milestones.
Develop and deliver technical curricula aligned to the daily work of Controls roles - BMS and EPMS system architecture, sequence of operations, controls logic programming, industrial protocols (BACnet, MODBUS, MQTT), commissioning, root cause analysis, and alarm management.
Build role-specific training tracks: Technician content covering field device installation, calibration, provisioning, electrical schematics, and red-line documentation; Engineer content covering project scoping, budgeting, vendor management, and service contract financial oversight.
Create and maintain skill assessments that measure readiness by role and level; track qualification pass rates, manager-assessed proficiency ratings, and onboarding satisfaction as program effectiveness signals.
Partner with Controls Engineers, Technicians, team managers, and DC Operations stakeholders across AMER to align curriculum to operational needs, coordinate SME content reviews, and prevent training materials from going stale.
Own the training program roadmap, milestones, and dependencies - including the onboarding platform, shadowing tooling, and training lab and communicate program status and metrics to senior leadership through regular reporting cadences.
Explore and partner with education institutions and trade schools to influence and tailor their curriculum to support campus hiring for AWS CDS team and develop in-house training program to get the new hires trained.
