Original job description
Operations Infrastructure Services (OIS) Security is accountable for the network security posture of Amazon's global fulfillment and transportation infrastructure. We assess, track, and drive remediation of security risks across thousands of sites worldwide, ensuring availability, speed to market, and customer trust.
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to own and drive security risk remediation programs across WWOps. You will drive the OIS Security Risk Register - coordinating with risk owners, holding teams accountable to remediation timelines, and communicating progress to L10 leadership. You are someone who can navigate ambiguity, hold a technical conversation with network and security engineers, and translate complex risk landscapes into clear, actionable narratives for senior leadership.
In this role, you will own OP1 planning documents and Monthly Business Review (MBR) content for OIS Security, ensuring our goals, metrics, and risk posture are communicated with precision and impact. You will work across organizational boundaries - partnering with engineering teams, operations leaders, and security stakeholders - to ensure continual risks don't remain unmitigated. You will also partner closely with development teams within OIS to align security program milestones with tooling delivery, automation initiatives, and platform capabilities that underpin risk remediation at scale.
You will drive programs through a complex, multi-org landscape - holding your own in technical conversations with network security engineers, understanding risk assessment outputs, and demanding timelines when they slip. If you thrive at driving accountability across organizations, can credibly engage with engineers and senior leaders alike, and are energized by reducing risk at scale, this is the role for you.
This role may require travel to WWOps buildings globally to support risk assessments, stakeholder engagement, and on-site validation of security remediation efforts.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and drive the OIS Security Risk Register across WWOps, ensuring risk owners meet estimated completion dates and escalating blockers to leadership
- Coordinate risk remediation programs spanning multiple WWOps organizations, building and maintaining relationships with risk owners at the director and VP level
- Partner with development teams within OIS to ensure security program needs are reflected in tooling roadmaps, automation priorities, and platform delivery timelines
- Author, maintain, and deliver OP1 planning documents and MBR content for OIS Security leadership (L10 level)
- Track and report on Kingpin goal progress, translating technical milestones into leadership-ready metrics and narratives
- Drive cross-functional alignment on security risk priorities, timelines, and dependencies across new builds and existing sites
- Facilitate risk assessment intake, prioritization, and scheduling in partnership with OIS Security engineers
- Identify and escalate systemic blockers to risk remediation; propose and drive process improvements
- Communicate security program status, risks, and trade-offs clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain program artifacts (trackers, dashboards, status documents) that provide stakeholders with real-time visibility into remediation progress
- Travel to WWOps sites as needed to support program goals, stakeholder alignment, and on-the-ground validation
A day in the life You'll partner with a diverse team of network engineers, security engineers, software development engineers, and operations leaders across OIS, WWOps, and Customer Logistics Security. Your day will involve reviewing risk register status, following up with risk owners on overdue items, syncing with OIS development teams on tooling dependencies, preparing materials for leadership reviews, and working with engineers to understand the technical nuance behind remediation timelines.
