Original job description
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for the proactive, day-to-day monitoring and execution of Amazon's Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) program at the site. Partnering closely with the Safety Manager, this individual monitors safety compliance, identifies and helps mitigate potential hazards within the warehouse environment, and serves as a visible, on-the-floor safety resource across all operational shifts. The qualified candidate engages professionally with the entire site workforce and leadership team to drive safety awareness, education, and a strong safety culture, and communicates clearly - both written and verbally - to correct unsafe conditions and reinforce safe behaviors.
About the role This site supports a dynamic, fast-moving warehouse operation with a growing headcount and newly added shifts. The Safety Coordinator is the front-line owner of safety execution for their assigned shift(s) - the person associates and area managers go to for real-time hazard questions, injury response, and process-path safety support. This is a highly visible, floor-based role: expect to spend the majority of your time in operations process paths observing work, coaching associates, and partnering with Operations leadership to build safety into the way work gets done.
