Quick Commerce Process Design is looking for an innovative, solutions-oriented Process Design Engineer to help build the operational processes and standards behind Amazon's next-generation, sub-30-minute delivery network. Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex, undefined problems? Does the challenge of designing processes and small-format, temperature-controlled fulfillment sites, from the ground up, with no legacy playbook, appeal to you? If so, we have the job for you!
We're looking to add high-impact engineers to our team. In this role, you'll collaborate with internal teams, operations, and external vendors to define, standardize, and document the processes that QC sites run on, and translate them into clean, design-ready inputs for building-design teams. Your work will span a variety of site concepts and template-based design solutions across ambient, chilled, and frozen operations. You'll work alongside a highly skilled, highly engaged team in a fast-paced and often ambiguous greenfield environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop Process & Material Handling design solutions for QC sites - process design, material flow, equipment specification, and site layout - supporting modern operations running 24/7.
- Define, standardize, and document operational processes into repeatable modules and design-ready inputs (requirements, volumes/rates, adjacencies, constraints) that building-design teams consume.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders, including Operations, WHS, and Ergonomics, to produce high-quality, cost-effective solutions on tight timelines.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, communicating and coordinating effectively with internal partners, contractors, and vendors.
- Apply data-driven analysis (throughput, rate, capacity, utilization) to evaluate design options and support decisions with clear cost, efficiency, and scalability tradeoffs.
- Partner with Operations to identify pain points, discover problems, and surface improvement opportunities across the value chain.
- Communicate technical solutions and recommendations clearly to partners and leadership.
- Up to 50% travel requirement to visit sites and support projects.
A day in the life You start your morning with a briefing from your AI assistant, a snapshot pulled from the information sources you've built, surfacing the latest from operations, your ongoing projects, and progress against long-term goals. With priorities clear, you move into deep work: producing high-quality process packages, such as SOPs, policy documents, flow diagrams, and value stream maps, that become the standard sites run on.
Mid-morning, you partner with the tech team to reconcile your time-study and ergonomics findings against real-world data through a dashboard you're building with actual cycle times, error rates, process yield, and DPMO. From there, you shift to a site working on new equipment designed to improve ergonomics and eliminate safety incidents. In the afternoon, you join operations, supply chain, and WHS to shape the process design behind a new initiative.
You close the day by reviewing an AI-generated summary from your project-management systems for the input for next week's leadership business review and prepare for your business trip to the next site to observe, learn, and get feedback from operations.
No two days look the same. You move fluidly between hands-on design, data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and the standards work that scales across the network.
About the team The Quick Commerce (QC) Process Design team defines, standardizes, and maintains the operational processes and standards behind Amazon's sub-30-minute delivery network.
