Original job description
Do you have a passion for setting the strategic vision and building new customer-facing experiences that are used by millions? The Recipient Experience team is hiring!
We build experiences for the Amazon retail site and mobile app to provide customers with effortless order management, tracking, and agency over their orders. Throughout the customer experience, we also make it easy for customers to engage with their past purchases, repurchase, and discover new products.
We are redesigning the post-purchase experience for our customers worldwide. Our team owns and builds customer-facing experiences which help us realize our mission of providing a perfectly executed, transparent, and flexible delivery experience that customers LOVE. Post-purchase surfaces drive billions in customer visits annually - customers are highly attentive, frequently checking updates in real time - yet these surfaces remain primarily optimized for order tracking. At Amazon, we are known for our customer obsession.
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager - Tech to lead monetization strategy across post-purchase surfaces. You will be responsible for evolving post-purchase pages and notifications into surfaces that help customers find relevant products, services, and programs through organic recommendations and sponsored experiences. This role will unlock value through personalized discovery and monetization, reinforcing the value of shopping with Amazon while driving engagement and building long-term customer trust.
You will:
- Own development and communication of the long-term monetization vision and goals for post-purchase surfaces
- Define customer requirements and use case prioritization for organic recommendations and sponsored experiences
- Own the test-and-learn roadmap and be responsible for business results, balancing revenue generation with customer experience quality
- Collaborate with advertising teams (Ads, Stores Monetization, Sponsored Products, etc.) and organic shopping teams (Add to Delivery, Buy Again, Subscribe & Save, etc.) as well as design, technical, science, and other business stakeholders across the company to launch innovative monetization features and programs.
- Establish guardrails, frequency caps, and relevance thresholds that protect the customer experience as monetization scales
- Monitor and react to customer needs and feedback, constantly improving and expanding the experience
Candidates should have strong customer focus and business judgment, and be skilled at breaking down complex, high-level ideas into executable features and distinct phases. The ability to influence cross-functionally at all levels, including VP/SVP stakeholders, will be critical to success in this role.
