Amazon is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Global Engineering Services & Analytics (GESA) organization on the Power and Hydrogen Solutions team. In this role, you will own the asset management and continuous improvement program for Amazon’s global fleet of power and hydrogen resiliency assets - including generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), fuel cells, electrolyzers, hydrogen storage and dispensing systems, and related electrical and balance-of-plant infrastructure - deployed across Amazon’s global portfolio of fulfillment centers, sort centers, and delivery stations. You will lead the corrective action process end to end: driving root cause analysis on equipment issues and outages, tracking corrective actions to closure, and mining issue patterns to identify and deliver continuous improvements across the fleet. You will manage continuous improvement projects in partnership with vendors and stakeholders - with safety as a non-negotiable priority - and own the lifecycle management of deployed assets to ensure uninterrupted, safe operations at Amazon sites worldwide. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You will work cross-functionally with electrical and hydrogen engineering, operations, safety, construction, and procurement teams to deliver resilient, continuously improving power and hydrogen solutions at scale.
Key job responsibilities Corrective Action & Root Cause Analysis Own and manage the supplier corrective action process for power and hydrogen asset issues end to end - from issue intake and triage through investigation, corrective action, and verified closure. Lead structured root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures, outages, near-misses, and safety events across generators, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage infrastructure/dispensing systems. Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure; maintain a single source of truth for issue status, owners, due dates, and progress, and escalate stalled or at-risk items. Establish and report corrective action KPIs (e.g., time-to-closure, recurrence rate, overdue actions); drive cadences that hold owners accountable for timely, high-quality resolution. Partner with safety and engineering to ensure corrective actions eliminate hazards and address systemic causes - not just symptoms - and are validated as effective before closure. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Analyze issue patterns and trends across the fleet to identify systemic opportunities for continuous improvement in reliability, safety, cost, and availability. Translate recurring issues and RCA findings into a prioritized continuous improvement roadmap; define problem statements, success metrics, and business cases for each initiative. Lead continuous improvement projects in partnership with vendors and stakeholders - scoping, planning, and driving them from idea through implementation and measured results. Standardize and improve maintenance strategies, design guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on fleet learnings; drive adoption across the portfolio. Use equipment performance and maintenance data to predict failures, optimize maintenance intervals, and demonstrate the impact of improvements over time. Asset Lifecycle Management Own lifecycle management of deployed power and hydrogen assets, ensuring reliability, safety, compliance, and performance throughout each asset’s service life. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for generators, BESS, fuel cells, hydrogen storage infrastructure/dispensing, and associated controls across assigned sites. Manage end-of-life planning and replacement strategies for aging assets, including capital justification and prioritization. Vendor & Stakeholder Management (Safety) Manage continuous improvement and corrective action projects with vendors and stakeholders - including generator and fuel cell OEMs, BESS and hydrogen suppliers, electrical contractors, and service partners - holding them accountable to scope, schedule, quality, and safety standards. Partner closely with Safety to ensure every project and corrective action meets Amazon’s safety requirements; embed safety reviews, controls, and sign-offs into the improvement lifecycle. Serve as the primary point of contact between engineering, operations, safety, and external partners for asset management and continuous improvement activities at assigned sites. Facilitate stakeholder alignment across regional operations, site leadership, safety, and corporate engineering to ensure improvements are adopted and sustained in steady-state operations. Manage service agreements, change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing associated with corrective action and continuous improvement work. Technical Leadership & Strategy Support the development of Amazon’s global power and hydrogen resiliency strategy, including asset health frameworks, reliability scoring models, and continuous improvement prioritization criteria. Evaluate emerging technologies in energy storage, distributed generation, hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysis, microgrid architecture, and renewable integration to inform the team’s technical and improvement roadmap. Represent the Power and Hydrogen Solutions team in cross-functional reviews, leadership briefings, and incident response coordination.
