Original job description

Are you a curious, hands-on technologist who thrives on solving problems and keeping critical systems running? Amazon is looking for an Information Technology Support Engineer I to join our team and play a key role in delivering reliable IT support across our operations. In this role, you will implement technical solutions and provide high-quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise applications. You will troubleshoot issues that go beyond standard procedures, identify root causes, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that impact multiple users and systems. If you are a self-starter who enjoys learning new technologies, collaborating with teammates, and making a tangible difference for the people who rely on your expertise every day, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues across a variety of environments, applying your diagnostic skills to identify root causes even when standard procedures do not cover the scenario.
Implement and maintain IT infrastructure, including network devices, computing systems, and enterprise applications, ensuring systems remain available and performant during production hours.
Manage local IT projects by defining requirements, tracking progress, removing blockers, and coordinating with partner teams to deliver value on time.
Author and maintain knowledge base articles, operating procedures, and user documentation, communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Support continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies, automating tasks using scripting languages, and contributing to operational excellence initiatives that may span multiple locations.

A day in the life Your day might begin by reviewing system monitors and log files to assess the health of infrastructure across your supported sites. From there, you could be hands-on replacing a network switch, scripting a fix to automate a recurring issue, or walking a colleague through a complex troubleshooting scenario. You will coordinate change management activities, respond to escalations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operations running smoothly. Expect a mix of planned project work and real-time problem solving that keeps you engaged and growing your technical skills.

About the team Our team is dedicated to providing reliable, always-on IT support that enables Amazon Operations to deliver for customers around the world. We work collaboratively to maintain and improve the technology that powers our facilities, and we are committed to building an inclusive environment where every team member can contribute ideas and grow. Looking ahead, we are focused on driving greater automation, strengthening our infrastructure, and developing new solutions that raise the bar for operational efficiency. If you want to be part of a team where your technical contributions have a direct, visible impact, this is the place for you. Basic qualifications

1+ years of Windows Server technologies: AD, DFS, Print Services, SCCM experience
2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation experience
1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
2+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP) experience
2+ years of corporate setting Windows, Mac or Linux Operating systems support experience
2+ years of supporting and maintaining a corporate network environment experience
High school or equivalent diploma Preferred qualifications
2+ years of computer networking experience
Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment
